Celebrating the Inauguration of the New Kindergarten and Dormitories at Shuxue Township, Sichuan
An inauguration ceremony was held on the morning of 28 June 2012, to celebrate the successful completion of the second phase of construction at Shuxue Township, Sichuan.
The construction projects were planned and overseen by Dharma Drum Mountain, and resulted in two student dormitories with capacity for 800 students, an athletic field and kindergarten with eight classrooms.
DDM Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong and Vice Abbot President Venerable Guo Pin attended the ceremony, cutting a red ribbon in the presence of local government officials and hundreds of students and teachers.
Venerable Guo Dong offered thanks to those who had given their generous assistance to the completion of the construction. He said this precious experience had also allowed us to understand the significance of having compassion, making good vows and learning the Dharma.
