Abbot President Presides Over the Inauguration of a New Buddha Hall in HK

During 15-18 November 2012, Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong visited the DDM Hong Kong branch and presided over the inauguration of the new Buddha Hall of DDM Hong Kong on 18 November.

The inauguration began with a Purification Ceremony conducted by the Abbot President himself amidst the holy chanting of “Nanmo Amitofo” by devotees. Then, devotees were invited to watch a talk on Dharma learning and mindfulness, previously recorded by the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen.

Addressing close to 400 devotees, the Abbot President advocated that we are here to nurture the Bodhisattva’s compassion and wisdom and to uphold the Dharma. He was full of praise and explained that upholding the Dharma is the best demonstration of cultivating self-merit and encouraged the continuous resolve of devotees to help others in need.

After the inauguration, the Abbot President also conducted a Certificate Authorizing Ritual for fundraisers who had selflessly dedicated themselves to DDM HK’s fundraising activities. The Abbot President not only offered his deepest gratitude to them, but also encouraged them to reach out to more people and bring them closer to the Dharma for the goal of ‘building a pure land on earth’.
