DDMBA Hosts a 3-Day Chan Camp in San Francisco

On 15 April, 2011, Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association (DDMBA) in United States of America hosted a 3-day Chan camp. This was the third 360-Degree Chan Camp DDMBA hosted in San Francisco, for which a total of 18 students attended.

The camp was specifically catered for white-collar professionals who have been bound to a busy modern life. It aimed at cleansing their confused minds and easing their exhausted bodies.

The programs were thoughtfully planned in accordance with the teachings of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen to ensure that every student approached the correct practices and ideas of Chan, incorporating the application of Chan into their personal lives, and experienced the Dharma in a casual manner.

During the reflection session after the event, the atmosphere among students was that of gratitude. This event was a revelation for students practicing Chan.

In the wake of the inspirational 3-day Chan camp, they commenced the cultivation of Dharma merits and willingly undertook the responsibilities of promoting the Master’s book ‘Chinese Orthodox Buddhism’ and his teachings for the well-being of all human beings.
