As political and economic ties between Africa and Asia grow, it is important that the religious leaders of the two continents collaborate closely; to share experiences of humanitarian works, and to ponder over interfaith opportunities, challenges, cooperation and interactions. This is necessary to cultivate global compassion which would greatly "uplift the character of humanity" in accordance to Dharma Drum Mountain's philosophy of peace and harmony.

A distinguished group of guests from the internationally renowned information and communication technology manufacturer, BENQ, experienced a joyous afternoon of Chan (Zen) at the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, Jinshan Township, Taipei County, on 3 June 2007.
Following the blissful ritual of sounding the Lotus Bell on the eve of Chinese Lunar New Year on 17 February 2007 Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education hosted a number of special activities and blessing ceremonies to celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival on 4 March 2007.

Presided over personally by the Venerable Master Sheng Yen, the "Blessing Ceremony of Taking Refuge for Peace, Respect and Harmony" was hosted at the Nung Chan Monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain on the morning of January 21, 2007.

On the 20th of October, 2007, Nung Chan Monastery held Dharma Drum Mountain's Buddhist-style Joint Birthday Celebration for the elderly, a yearly event that expresses thankfulness to DDM's long term supporters, carries out loving care for the elderly, and promotes traditional filial piety .
At the Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education, Taiwan, on September 17 -18, 2007, producer and host of CNBC's Karma Trekkers paid a special visit to the Mountain to conduct interviews with the sangha's monastics and to film footage of the campus, with the plan of doing a short 5 –10 minute piece on DDM, to be aired on their television program, which broadcasts worldwide in English.
On the afternoon of 2 November 2007, Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC) hosted an educational and inspirational speech, "Zen and the Brain", illustrating the relationship between neurological research of human brain and Chan (Zen) meditation. The event was held at Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township, Taipei County.

In the face of difficult relationships in modern society and the degradation of ethics in recent times, Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) has been actively promoting the Six Ethics Movement as the guiding principles for uplifting human character and promoting social harmony and peace since 2006.

What a blessing day! 56 new couples tied the knots at the 12th Buddhist Wedding Ceremony on 20 January, 2007 at Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan. Venerable Master Sheng Yen delivered his warmest blessing to all couples on this auspicious day, which according to Chinese Lunar Calendar, would bring about good luck and prosperity.

The Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC) was officially unveiled on the morning of 8 April 2007 at Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township, Taipei, following the approval of Dharma Drum Mountain’s application by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE) on 14 August 2006.
